The upper palate is also the area you place your tongue during advanced breath, energy and meditation work. The tip of the tongue points straight to the fontanel at the top of the head (the 'soft' spot) and is reputed to open up the nadis or energy channels in the body. When a person has a Kundalini * energy experience there have been reports of an ambrosia like nectar of immortality -- Amrita (Sanskrit) -- that drips precious drops from the back of the throat.
